The Chamber offers Human Resource training as part of the 4th
Friday Lunch and Learn series
HUTCHINSON, KS (June
20, 2012) The Hutchinson/Reno County Chamber of Commerce will host a 4th
Friday Lunch and Learn class, “Human Resource Essentials,” on Friday, June 22,
2012, from 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. The class will be at the Hutchinson Community
College, Shears Technology Center and will include lunch.
“Human Resource Essentials,” taught by Kara Hunt, an HR
Consultant with The Arnold Group, will cover key Human Resource topics
including, successful interviewing and hiring, form I-9 compliance, training
and development, common HR problem areas, and job descriptions. Hunt will also
explain today’s HR environment and what it really means to be a right to work
state.
Part of the Chamber’s mission is to be a catalyst for a
prosperous business climate in Hutchinson and Reno County. Providing classes, such as the 4th
Friday Lunch and Learn series, not only add to the value of being a Chamber
member, it helps to enhance the education of our local businesses and their
employees. “Businesses, especially small businesses, don’t always have their
own HR person, IT person, or marketing person. A lot of times one person wears
many hats. We, at the Chamber, are trying to provide a resource to them that
enhances their business experience,” said Lori Webb, Director of Sales and
Membership at the Chamber.
The class is open to all Chamber members and their
employees. The cost of the class is $15 and covers the cost of lunch. To
register, please call 620-665-3559. For questions or more information on the
Lunch and Learn series, please contact Lori Webb at loriw@hutchchamber.com.
